WHAT A COMPLETE LET DOWN !!!

I've been waiting and waiting for my memory card to arrive, so that I can share photos of our trip home with all of you.
And photos of the wonderful 'get-together' as well.

Because, see, I have the posts almost all ready to go, but I want those photos, so that I - and you too - can put faces to the names.
Names like "Connie", and "Robynn" and "Linda" and "Chris"...

Because you may not have been there, but I want you to feel like you were.
And if you were there, well I want you to be visually reminded of how red my damn face was, because hours in the sun had me looking like a freaking tomato.
(which also started a lupus 'flare', but we won't go there... hmmm? Because honestly, it was so worth it!)

So yesterday, I saw the mailman arrive... and he had a package in his hand! Wooo Hooo!

I ran to the door, kicking aside tripping over cats and toys in the process... threw it open before he was even halfway across the porch, and almost tackled the poor guy, just so I could get that precious, precious package into my happy little hands!

I think I babbled incoherently for a minute or two while stroking the box lovingly... explaining to him just how MUCH I had looked forward to getting this particular package, mainly because I so wanted to share what was inside with all of my friends!!!

I swear... I repeated that "I really really want to share this with my friends!!!" several times.
Maybe even numerous times.
I can't remember now.

And while I was blathering, he started backing away slowly... and looking at me like I was a complete and total nut case. Which was extremely strange, because John is usually so friendly.
So, I finally came in, ripped the wrapping off .... and then got the shock of my life!!!

Because I got this...

Which is so NOT the memory card I was hoping for...

But, as long as it's here, I'll use it...

Because at my age, I guess it's one of those things that may be high on the "ick" scale, but it's a good thing to do anyway ... you know what I mean?

But I seriously doubt that I'll be sharing the results of this particular package with y'all.
(You're very welcome.)

And... I figure that since I won't be sharing any of my memorable holiday photos with you today, I'm gonna cunningly turn this "I seriously humiliated myself in front of the mailman" and my sad tale of a complete and utter "let down" post, into a public service message... and remind you to:

Oh my gosh, that's hilarious! Hey, I didn't know you had lupu, or did I? I do too, and never get in the sun because it causes flare ups with me too.

Okay. Blogger and I are NOT getting along. And it's not my fault! He started it!

What I was TRYING to say was THIS:

My last colonoscopy just about killed me and I'm glad it was good cause I'll probably be dead before I need another one! That's my hope anyway. All that crappy stuff you have to drink lodged a stone in my liver and if that just wasn't the most fun thing. But if it could happen to anyone, it will and DOES always happen to me!

And I only showed one picture of you. Please love me and do the same. Oh.Dear.Lord. And I didn't know you had Lupus, either. I'm so sorry. When it flares, it's bad. Why don't we all look like Ree Drummond, cook with butter and sugar, and have thin thighs and thin kids and husbands to show for it? Have I mentioned life is desperately unfair?!

Whoa! My W.V. is "hator!" BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OMG! Katy. You are hysterical. I laughed so hard I needed to RUN to the bathroom.
Hope your next package is really what you want. Thanks for my laugh of the week.

What a coincidence! My poor hubby is having a colonoscopy tomorrow. Yesterday he had to start eating plain bland foods. Breakfast was 2 poached eggs on white bread, no seasonings. For lunch I poached him some chicken breast tenders in vegetable stock, steamed rice and steamed cubed potato and pumpkin. Plain vanilla low fat yoghurt for dessert and apple juice.
Dinner was beautifully fresh, steamed flake (shark - which had been swimming in the ocean earlier that day), more steamed rice, potato and pumpkin. Lemon jelly for dessert. He allowed himself a few glasses of white wine.
Today, poor dude, had strained chicken noodle soup for breakfast, will be same for lunch along with apple juice, lemonade and jelly.
He starts taking the 'jungle juice' at 11 am so it won't be hard locating him for the rest of the day.
He's ordered a rump steak for dinner tomorrow night!
I hope yours goes okay, Kate.

Cheers - Joolz

Pam, I don't know if I ever mentioned the Lupie before... I've got SLE, and I'm usually pretty good, but there are times when I just throw chance to the wind!
~~~
Roslyn, this is one of those self-test kits, but I'll be making an appointment with the Dr just in case. The things we've got to do, eh? :(
~~~
Robynn, Col's had 2 colonoscopy's in the last couple of years, so I guess is someone's way of prodding me into action.
And with the photos? I might have to borrow yours... if that's okay? Or you could just call Josh and give him hell for working so much, when his mama WANTSstuff from him! I mean, where ARE his priorities, hmmm ?
~~~
farmlady, Did you have to use the word RUN? But I guess at least it wasn't "RUN'S"... which would have made me head for the bathroom too! lol!
~~~~
Joolz, I guess it's just one of those things we've got to do, isn't it? I think I would have a problem with the pre-colonoscopy diet, but I'm sure if a man can do it, so can I! I hope everything goes well for your husband tommorrow...
And I'll now I'll do my best to stop thinking of his colon! ;)

Good on ya! There's an ad here about getting your colon checked that says something like...'don't die of embarrassment' Hope your next package is a bit more exciting!

Hubster & I went to the doc in April, and he told Hubster to go have a colonoscopy. Hub's response was, "Not until SHE'S old enough to go too!"
