See, for some unknown reason, I seriously, seriously over-estimated the use of fresh bananas around here last week. ( maybe because every single, stinkin' kid brought their own bananas in their lunchbox, eh?)
And because of it, I've got bananas coming out my ears.
Sadly, there's only so much you can do with bananas.
I know.
Because I've tried.
I've baked banana breads, until the smell is making me nauseous.
I've made banana puddings. (and without 'Nilla Wafers, it's just not right)
I've made crepes with banana cream topping.
I've made smoothies.
I've made sliced bananas in rum-custard sauce.
I've made fruit salad that consists of 98% bananas... and an apple thrown in for good measure.
And to tell you the truth... I'm sick of 'em.
Luckily, I found that if you get really, really cranky and throw bananas under the trees, hoping that some neighborhood animal will cart them off, it makes the Parrots and Honey-Eaters flock in for a feed.
This will be my last attempt at using the damned stinkin' bananas ... and after that, the birds can have the 3 that will be left.

Hmmm....I wonder if the birds would like some Banana Charlotte for a change??
Because I honestly think that I've reached my saturation point.

Sounds like banana overload to me! I like bananas but just plain they DO NOT agree with me. Frozen banana slices are good.
so....can we expect a banana treat when we pop 'round??!!??
Well, I'm the dumbass who bought a case of bananas the Tuesday before Christmas, and still have 43 left. I guess I'd better start freezing them for later use, huh?
Pop them in the freezer and use for bread later in the season or smoothies....someday!
I freeze them. But then every couple of years I throw out the 20 pounds or so of frozen bananas that have accumulated.
I love bananas! Sounds like a good use of them to me.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You could always throw them in a blender, cover them with rum, add a dash of honey...and, after a sip or two, you would stop caring about the bananas!
Don't know how it would taste, but what the hell? It might be worth a shot...!
I love bananas, but they don't love me back! So I look longingly at them when I'm at the store and then walk on by!
Oh, you poor lady!!!! It does sound like SUPER SATURATION!!! But thanks for the great recipe!!!!!! And a hilariously funny post...sounds like something I'd get myself into!!! Love it!!! Love, Janine XO
Banana fritters.
Really though you are doing a good job.
Mum put 100s and 1000s on her custard for the kids.
This looks to be ana amzing way to use bananas! Thanks for sharing :)
Bananas deep fried in Crisco!
Gee! Wish I lived close... I'd stop by your trees & pick up those discarded bananas! I LOVE bananas & usually eat one or two a day! Unfortunately you've already named everything I know to do with them... just short of taking them to a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
