Happy Birthday, America!

And did you know this?
That in addition to the USA turning 234 years old today, the 50-star American flag is officially 50 YEARS OLD today, as well!
Law directs that a newly-designed U. S. flag becomes official on the first July 4th observance following the admission of a new state.
Hawaii was admitted as the 50th state on Aug. 21, 1959.

So, relax and enjoy the day.
Kick back and grill some burgers or hotdogs.
Watch a ballgame.
Shoot off the fireworks and wave Old Glory.

But, for heaven's sake, don't forget what this holiday is all about.
It's about
One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

Great stuff!! Hope it was a brilliant 4th of July. My nephew is now living in New York and was very excited at the weekend of celebrations.

Thanks to Robynn, I've discovered your fabulous blog--great stuff. I would love to visit Aussie Land, but emphasis is on visit. I love living near my grandchildren. The July 4th celebrations are really great with the picnics, fireworks, music, friends and family.
