Remember the little cherry plum trees I discovered a few weeks back?
Well, I was feeling half-way human a few hours ago and I decided I had better do something with the plums before they all went bad... Or the birds ate them.
So I made one little pot of jam out of about 30 teeny plums.
I couldn't be bothered to actually "can" the jam, so I just filled a yogurt container from last nights dinner.
There's just enough jam for maybe a week - for me and the old guy - so even though I kind of wish I had had more plums, this is really the perfect amount.
I might even see if I can't muster enough energy later today, to make some biscuits to slather this good ol' jam on !
But right now... I'm off for a much needed "nana nap".
Geez, it's hell feeling old.

Looks yummy, Kate! All my neighbo(u)rs go into jam-making overdrive this time of year and there's plenty of plum and apricot jam in the neighbo(u)rhood! :-)
I have never tried making jam...one day maybe!

Kathy
WOW! I am very impressed--I have never made jam. It is on my list of things to do. Hopefully, I will get to make jam this summer. Photos are great!

Look at you! I've never made jam. Not the domestic type really. Had to do the dishes since hubby's had the flu. OMG!
Biscuits - when you were plastered on tequila, did you go hit one of the sex shops for some Crisco?

Ahhh.. I would LOVE to make some apricot jam, but I think I might make some blueberry jam with the 12 quarts of blueberries I already have in the freezer. Bless the oldguys little blueberry pickin' heart!

I think you could take everything but the microwave, and Bec would be just fine.

Kathy, I was too tired at the end of the day, so I just settled for toast for dinner. The jam was delicious though. :)

Thanks Hun ! It's a lot easier to make than most people think, and well worth the effort. Go for it!

Lib,
Nooooo... of course not.
I stocked up "last" time I went.
*wink*
Okay....how'd I miss your post about you being so sick??!! I am SO sorry and I hope your momma showed up...I'm thinkin' not though, you being down under and all. I hope, since you're making jam, that means you're feeling better.
Thank goodness there aren't more of those things - you'd feel really obligated and, what with being drunk all the time and everything - well, shoot, you'd forget about it anyway. ;-)
I apppreciate your honest feedback about my blog background and I'm still hunting. Now someone says it's gone all white. That's REALLY boring!
Hello there
I havew posted the recipe for the Buttermilk scones (I guess you call them biscuits) on my blog. Your cherry plum jam will go very nicely with them....don't forget some gooey whipped cream too!
Have a good one - Joolz
