Isn't this beautiful?
Isn't this what you would love to receive from your "Other Half" for Valentines Day?
A lovely thoughtful card, a bunch of flowers or even a yummy box of chocolates.....
Oh my!
How romantic!
THIS, however, is what I received from The Old Guy:
(be still, my heart)
And THIS is what he'll be receiving from me:
Remind me again, What DO I see in this man???
Post Script:
Awww... Bless his sweet little pea-pickin' heart! He just came back in the house and asked me if I had shared what he had gotten me for Valentines Day, with my "girlfriends" on my blog! The smile on his face and the look in his eyes has me re-thinking the whole pie in the face plan now. Seriously re-thinking it. He really DID put a lot of (man) effort into the gift and I do have to honestly say that it's a much nicer gift than the color-coded key tags that he got me last year. Although, they were pretty useful too.
I think I'll keep him after all. ;-)

That is so cute and funny. There must be some reason you're with him. Happy Valentine's Day
Man, you got screwed! ;o)
LOL... At least it wasn't a hammer. I suspected a hammer, but this is probably safer.
awwwww....I can just see that look in Col's eyes! What a sweetie! (Don't waste a good pie on that sweet face of his!) Happy VD!
You are so funny!!! I probably won't get anything except him telling me happy V day. That was a pretty card up there. Happy Valentine's Day!
HaHaHa that's funny. Men just sometimes don't get it. Gifts don't have to be useful, they can be pretty. I have a friend who's husband gives her pink tools as gifts. I guess pink makes them more special...hahaha
That's nice that he asked about your bloggy friends.. he's interested in what's going on with you. I just remember from that photo from ?? back -he sure had sweet eyes to me.
p.s. and OMGosh(!) funny- the screwed/hammered puns.. ohhh, am I simple!
Life got even better... He brought me a Gloria Jean's coffee and a blueberry muffin
And while he was gone, I baked him an Egg Custard pie. I found the recipe at jennypilgrim.blogspot.com
and it looks so GOOD!
If it's half as good as I think it will be, I will NOT be throwing at him. ;-)
Yep, he does have kind, gentle, sweet eyes and the best part is that he's not even aware of it.
LOL!
I "suspected" I would be getting a hammer after having him pound in a nail yesterday, with a brick.. but I guess the screw driver set just looked bigger. You know... the "more parts", the better it must be.
Maybe he was trying to say, "I love you to BITS!" Hahahaha ha ha ha.....no? Hey, it was worth a shot. I know...weak. Anyway he remembered. And that's somethin'!
Tatersmama,
See what I mean about making a comment following Robynn's? Can't even come close to her wit and humor!
Ah, but I think you've got a practical man there, and actually in the long run, his kind might be the best!
Thank you for the award yesterday. You're a gem!
Sounds a lot like the man I have spent the past 43 years with. Does he have a long lost brother? Maybe I married him. Gotta love them though.
Had to come look at your blog because my friend Homestay Mama sent me.
I'm liking what I am seeing.
I read that if you get flowers and chocolates on Valentines Day (or your birthday, Christmas, any 'special' day) - he's not really into you. It's a thoughtless gift. Get rid of him. He should be buying something meaningful.
I have no idea what the meaning is behind your gift though my friend.
Of course if you get flowers and chocolates any other day - it's really, really special and you gotta keep him.
!!! oh this did give me a giggle...thanks for that!
I think that was mighty sweet of the man. Everytime you use the screwdriver, you will think of how much you love that man. Men do come in handy once in awhile! Glad you had a nice Valentine's!!
Robynn, I'll say it again... Give me WARNING !! *snort*
Homestay Mama, Yep, I guess practical IS best for the long haul, eh? ;-)
Gramma 2 Many, Hello there!
Maybe there IS a long lost brother> hmmm? It would make it simpler to just say that frugality/practicality is just an old family trait!
Rubies, Well, I guess that he is into me then! Besides he's always bringing me chocolate from Aldi's... and he never asks to share, so I might just keep him. ;-)
LWM... You wouldn't be giggling if you had to live with him! ;-)
Sassy Dog, OH... am I supposed to use it? I thought it was for HIM to use when he's here. Oh my.
Miguel and Sis (aka Sara) got up early this morn and went to the swap meet. When they got back, I woke to a half dozen red rose's in a beautiful red vase. The card read, from "Dad and Sara, Not from Adam and Sam they didn't get up early" hahaha but I know it was from all of them
Thank you so much for your kind words of condolence. I do appreciate and treasure them. This has been a rough patch here and opening emails from blog friends has eased my pain.
Hoping that your world of fires and loss settle down there too and we can all move on to happier things.
So, whatcha making with your new present :)
Anita
Such a cute post...Happy Valentines Day! :)
Hi Goofy :) - Just dropped in because I needed a laugh and you always make me smile. And I wish I was half as funny as you and Homestay Mama tell me I am. I'd have 'em comin' in in droves and drive that 1.79 from adsense right into the $3.00 stratosphere!
Oh! And P.S.! My Valentine gift to you?? I clicked on all your ads. You can start planning that retirement now. Oh I crack myself up! LOL!
I'll be your Valentine!
