Susan Boyle... simply breathtaking!

I don't know what it is about this woman, but she has completely drawn me in.

The honesty, humbleness and her average, ordinary looks... along with the most amazing and heart-stoppingly beautiful voice... Well, she just sends delightful shivers down my spine and she brings tears to my eyes!
I've watched the video time after time and the tears just keep flowing...because she's honest. she's true... and she's a gift to all of us.

She makes me feel hopeful again.

Hopeful that the day will come, when we all stop judging books by their covers and start seeing - truly seeing - the warmth and depth and lovliness of a person based on simply who they are... rather than what they look like.

Now I know you've probable all seen her before, because lets face it... after she auditioned on Britains Got Talent... you would have a hard time turning on the TV nowadays, without seeing the video or interviews.

But if you haven't seen it, grab your tissues, sit down and be prepared to be amazed.

I wanted to add the video on here, but it's been disabled.. so simply click the link to see

Incredible. I'd seen people referring to her and the Britain's Got Talent video clip on Facebook and whatnot, but did not watch the performance until this morning. Neil was watching with me and I was trying to keep from making a sniffling noise (big sook, me) until a tear just plopped down onto my leg!

Amazing. And it does strike a chord in all those people (like me) who were labelled a nerd in high school or made fun of for being too tall/short/fat/skinny/buckteeth/glasses/pimples, etc.

I liked watching all those pretty girls with their perfect hair snicker at the start and then minutes later their chins hitting the floor.

Good onya Susan! I hope she gets a recording contract out of all of this. Not so that she can get rich, get a new wardrobe and fancy hair-do, but so that her voice can continue to bring joy to more and more people.

Rubies, You can usually talk the hind leg off a donkey, and that's ALL you have to say? *snicker*
Love ya,

Sooze, You big ol' sook you! I read somewhere that Simon has already signed her...so fingers crossed that they just allow her to be herself.

Sherri, Is "double WOW" twice as good as just plain "WOW" ?
And just FYI, I do NOT have an accent! ;-)

Becky, even when Simon's at his best, I STILL want to slap the snot outta him! But it was good to see him admit to having his socks knocked off!

I've heard so much recently on this, but had not seen. I so wish somehow, someway, someday we would not judge on looks... sadly, don't think it will ever come to be though.
Wow, what a voice.

Liar Liar pants on fire! I've heard you on web cam at Bec's hahaha
That's ok Katie I'm Californian born and breed and I always have people asking what part of Texas I'm from :)

Oh Katie! I NEVER watch the tv because I live on the BLOG! If it wasn't for dear friends like you I'd know nothing of the world! THANK YOU!!! How wonderful to be discovered for what you really are and not just your package.

Personally, I can't STAND photos of me because they look just like me. The photog who shot Bo's senior pics put me in a few. Absolutely horrendous. They've all been chucked. Wish I had her confidence. So much easier to hide behind a computer!

And I'm with Sooziebelle - I hope that sniggering haughty girl in the beginning who gave her a snotty look, is getting grief everywhere she goes. I'd like to slap her but I'm sure I'd have to get in line!

I saw this last week on you tube and was completely blown away by her voice. I hope she has a fabulous career ahead of her.

And, it was good to see Simon and other people learn the true meaning of "You can't judge a book by its cover."

I agree with Sooziebelle. I hope she makes a lot of recordings for us to hear. But, I'm almost sure she will given a complete make-over, because that's what sells, unfortunately. Too bad, but that's the way of the world.

But, she seems like the type who might tell them to all bug off and leave her alone. And I hope she does!

What a success story for someone who truly deserves it. She not only has a fabu voice, she also seems like a genuinely fun and engaging person I'd like to meet.

I love people like that. And I think that's why I love the blogging community so much. Everyone seems to be as engaging as Susan Boyle.
Hugs,
Leslie

I just watched the video and I had tears rolling down my face.
I saw the snickers and chuckles from the crowd, I saw them quietly mocking her for her looks and manner. I was a little guilty too of thinking she was a little frumpy.

And then she sang and me and the rest of the audience were amazed. and I cried.

wow, what a voice. I hope she does really well and all her dreams come true.

Susan instilled a sense of hope in me, too. I thought "she can sing,(and quite well!) even though most people thought she couldn't, therefore, I CAN overcome obesity, even though I see many sceptics". Weird comparison, I know, but she was inspiring on many levels for me. I enjoy reading your blog.

Bz, I've been accused of being a Pollyanna more than once, but wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all just learn to accept and LIKE people for who they are?

Sherri, I've had dozens of people ask me if I'm from Ireland - based purely on my accent. Where does that leave me? Americans think I sound like an Aussie... and Aussie's think I sound Irish... go figure!
~~~~~
Robynn, I hear ya! I keep telling myself that God made me so I must be perfect in his eyes... but alas, it doesn't work!
~~~~~
Leslie, About the blogging world... We're all getting to know each other for who we are and for what we share - rather than basing it all on looks. I LOVE that!!!
~~~~~
Joolz, I still cry when I watch the video - and I've seen it a hundred times! ;-D
~~~~~
Narelle, I immediately LIKED the way she looked and it touched my heart that she wore that "mother-of-the-bride" looking cocktail dress, thinking that it was the height of fashion!
God Bless her!

TOPS lady, That's not a weird comparison at all! We can do anything we set our hearts to, whether it's getting on stage, losing weight, overcoming shyness or whatever. We CAN do it if we set our hearts and mind to it!
