Koala's are HOT!

I was sent this in an email last night and it was just too cute not to share with y'all !
I don't know who originally sent it or who the pics belong to, so if I'm stepping on someones toes, I'm truly sorry - but it's just too cute!
(I'm also adding the text that came with the email.)

I truly am from a remarkable country! And we have THE cutest animals (AND some of the most deadly - I know!) But I thought you would appreciate how cute this is...!
At home in Victoria the temperature has been above 44 degrees all week and they are forecasting another week of 40+ temperatures. Power is failing, trains have stopped running because tracks are buckling under the heat . It’s just scorching. and it seems that the people are not the only ones suffering.
Check out these photos of a little Koala which just walked onto a back porch looking for a bit of heat relief. The woman filled up a bucket for it and this is what happened!

Poor little koala, he must have been so hot!!

I heard on the radio that some koalas were falling out of their trees due to the heat. I know we had a lot of birds coming in for the cool air under the verandah and the water that I had put down.

Those photos are priceless.

We have had 12 days over 40C. Some of those well over 40! Today is 40 again. (I think I am almost getting used to the heat now!)

Staci,
Isn't he just adorable? He looked sooo miserable before getting in the "pool" though, didn't he? Like Tania said, there have been lots of reports of koala's literally falling out of trees because of the heat, and unfortunately, I've heard that a lot of dogs have figured that out and sit and wait!

Tania,
It's cooled down quite a bit here (only high 30's for the last few days) but man... I feel for you with the unrelenting heat! You may be getting used to it, but it still isn't doing your garden any good, is it?
I've been keeping bowls and buckets of water in shady areas of the backyard, and it keeps disappearing, so I know that someone is getting the benefit. :-)
And the grass? Who needs to mow, when it just snaps off when you step on it!

That is just so cute - it almost doesn't look real. That poor little hot koala - wonder if he'll go spread the word to all his koala friends?

Ahhhhh poor little guy. I'm not sure how hot 40+ degrees are down there. I do know though how hot it get's here in the low desert in CA just down right miserable, not fit for man nor beast.

Frugal Maven, DO they spit? I didn't even know that! *blushing*
I don't think I've actually seen one close up, but I have heard them in the bush... and they make the most disgusting grunting and snorting noises!

Narelle, I can hear it right now, can't you??
" Hey Guys, POOL PARTY!!"

Sherri,
40C is 104F
And the 45.2C that we had last week was 113.36 !!

There have been 27 deaths attributed to the heat in Adelaide SA alone last week, and half a dozen or more here in Victoria.

Oh Oh OHHHHH!!!! That is about the cutest thing I've seen in AGES. THANK you for sharing that. Can't wait to show the kids!

27?! Dang, sad to hear when somebody passes due to the heat like that, it's so unnecesary. Keep hydrated and stay in the shade.

I know you all are having a terrible heat wave in OZ...I am here by 'blowing' some cool air down your way! Hope it reaches you!

What a precious series of shots and how relieved that poor bear looks, sitting in the bucket...poor little baby. I cannot believe how hot it is where you are while it is so cold where I am....If I could fill a ziploc bag and send you a breath of chilly air, I would do it. You know I would! Thanks so much for sharing the little koalas bath...

They had these same photos on a morning show this morning, but I missed most of what they said. (how inconvenient to have a houseful of kids when you want to watch just FIVE MINUTES of TV??

I wished I had seen the whole segment, but basically they just said to ring a wildlife person first, when you find any wild animal suffering with the heat.
Poop on that.. I'll put water out , make the area safe for them, and THEN call someone.

Oh, what a cutie pie! When I was waiting for the post to load, I thought it was a toy at first! Darling little fella; hope he got some heat relief!

If that isn't just the cutest little koala I've ever seen. I hope you get relief soon from the heat. It's supposed to be like 22 in central Florida and colder the farther north you go. Freeze warnings for most of the area tonight and Thursday nite.
